Vanessa M. Perez is a career readiness expert, marketing analyst, workforce development researcher, and Certified Professional Résumé Writer dedicated to advancing economic mobility for underserved and nontraditional populations. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Colorado State University–Pueblo, and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Applied Educational Sciences at the University of Miami.
Vanessa’s work focuses on career readiness strategy, résumé development, interview preparation, and workforce training, with an emphasis on data-informed decision-making and measurable outcomes. She has supported 800+ students and alumni, developed 245+ customized résumés, delivered 12+ career workshops reaching 300+ attendees each, and provided 125+ individuals with targeted interview preparation, helping diverse populations move toward meaningful employment outcomes.
Her journey began on a nontraditional path, earning her GED at 16 before progressing through community college, undergraduate, and graduate education. This lived experience informs her practical, results-driven approach and her deep understanding of the barriers faced by at-risk and underserved individuals.
As the founder of VMP Career Pathways, Vanessa is committed to expanding access to career readiness resources for at-risk youth, equipping them with the tools, confidence, and strategies needed to succeed in today’s workforce. Her background in marketing analytics strengthens her ability to leverage data, optimize outreach, and build scalable, high-impact programs.

Lawrence Perez is a Senior Recruiter and Human Resources Business Partner and Co-Founder of VMP Career Pathways, bringing over a decade of experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, and workforce strategy. He partners with organizational leadership to drive hiring initiatives, support business growth, and align talent strategies with overall business objectives.
Lawrence holds a Master of Business Administration from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Colorado State University–Pueblo. His professional expertise includes full-cycle recruiting, workforce planning, performance management, and building strong relationships across diverse teams.
Raised in Pueblo, Colorado, Lawrence grew up in a single-parent household and experienced the challenges of economic hardship firsthand. This background informs his commitment to expanding access to career opportunities and supporting individuals who may face barriers to employment.
As Co-Founder of VMP Career Pathways, Lawrence plays a critical role in shaping workforce-focused programming, providing real-world insight into hiring practices, and helping bridge the gap between job seekers and employer expectations.
